OCR: ROBOTS IN FILM THE LAWS OF ROBOTICS INTERPLANETARY SPACECRAFT The T.A.U. project The Jet Propulsion Laboratory is planning to launch a space probe in the next 30 years that will have a speed of Twenty Astronomical Units (T.A.U.), or three trillion kilometers per year. To accomplish this, the T.A.U. probe will be powered by a 150-kilowatt nuclear generator. The system should function for ten years, then as the probe reaches the edge of our solar system, it will split in two. An exploration module will continue on its way to the stars, scanning the heavens with its internal 1.5-meter telescope and transmitting information to the main module via a 10-watt optical laser system. The data collected will then be sent back to Earth. MARS BETAT
